Workforce Development

An outline of the activities and priorities of the Workforce Development Task Group.

Mission:

To assist the Cluster Opportunity Group in developing strategic policies and actions, and in partnership with other agencies, to enhance, develop and sustain regional ICT businesses through tactical, timely and relevant skills interventions that will enable businesses to invest, grow and compete.

Purpose to:

  • ascertain the “profile of skills” within the cluster, and its constituent sub-clusters, together with an understanding of the issues relating to the cluster’s immediate and future needs.
  • provide leadership and direction on behalf of the cluster and develop a coherent programme of complimentary strategies with partner and stakeholder organisations.
  • disseminate knowledge of work in progress within employer, partner and stakeholder organisations.
  • recommend strategic priorities and actions, which will positively impact upon the development and sustainability of the sub-cluster.
  • recommend business led skills interventions for project development.
  • undertake research to match the needs of the cluster with provision of resources across the region.
  • encourage activities or initiatives which raise an awareness of business skill requirements to delivery agents.
